Case studies

From start to finish

  • Auxilium Advisory supported our client, Andrew Nagberi, a first time business acquirer, in the purchase of an established company, the Flag Consultancy. Securing the right outcome for the shareholders and the future of the business.

    Case study details

    Transaction:

Purchase of an established flags, supply and installation and management business

    Based:

    Essex

    The Challenge

The buyer of this established flag business approached Auxilium Advisory to explore the purchase of an established company.

Paul worked with Andrew after being referred by a sell side advisory firm acting for a seller Andrew had previously expressed interest in.

The business specialises in inspecting and maintaining flagpoles at embassies and public buildings to laundering and replacing flags for hotels, venues and film sets across the country.

For many organisations, flags represent far more than decorative features - they represent national identity, professionalism and public image.

The business had already built a strong position within its market, with established customer relationships, repeat business, specialist manufacturing capability and a strong reputation.

The new owner asked Auxilium Advisory to provide funding to support the purchase of the business, which was subsequently achieved without any issues.

    Our Approach

Auxilium Advisory worked closely with the client to understand the business, its strengths, future potential and the objectives of the existing owners. This involvement included:

    • Reviewing business and financial performances.

    • Helping to understand the potential value of interesting businesses.

    • Developing an appropriate purchase strategy.

    • Identifying and/or approaching potential businesses.

    • Managing initial discussions with interested parties.

    • Supporting negotiations with prospective businesses.

    • Assisting with the structure and terms of the transaction.

    • Managing the process through to completion.

A key consideration throughout the process was maintaining confidentiality and protecting the interests of both the client and the target business.

    Another successful business purchase completed.

If you are considering purchasing a business, Auxilium Advisory can provide confidential, independent advice on your options and the steps involved in preparing for a successful purchase.

    The client said:

Auxilium Advisory were instrumental in helping to secure the funding needed to complete an MBO transaction. Paul understood the requirements, identified the right funder and provided support throughout the process.

  • Auxilium Advisory supported our client, Gautam Bathija of Loks Holding Ltd, an accomplished business acquirer, in the purchase of an established company, the Whiteley Scissor Company. Securing the right outcome for the purchaser, the seller and the future of the business.

    Case study details

    Transaction:

Purchase of a long established, niche, scissor manufacturer.

    Based:

    Sheffield

    The Challenge

Whiteley's was founded in 1760 and is now the last industrial scissor-maker in the UK, and the oldest scissorsmiths in the western world. Whiteley’s is a leading producer of industrial and professional scissors. Each scissor produced by the company is still hand-made. Whiteley has worked with film, TV, the Royal family, education, motor sport and more.

Paul had previously worked with the buyer in 2018 to source targets which resulted in the acquisition of a Bradford based carpet swatch manufacturer. Having built and sold that business in 2024, Gautam came back to source his next acquisition opportunity. Paul introduced the Whiteley business from one of his good contacts who were engaged to sell it for the owners.
